The Dance of Embodiment – Trust
An Experiential Seminar
with Navanita is an opportunity to engage in a self-directed educational journey. You will be guided, offered containment and playful companionship to deeply absorb yourself in your enquiry.
The pace and rhythm of discovery will be formed out of your individual and the groups needs.
The subject on which we orient is specific to each seminar. The nature of our enquiry is through a myriad of somatic approaches, honouring the felt sense, the uniqueness of you and
the celebration of the answers we seek, arising out of our remembering; remembering the body.
You can apply what you discover simply for your own self, or you can integrate the skills in your professional arena. We play with finding language for our experiences, developing trust in an ability to access and find the resources that lie within the tissues of the self, emerge into relationship from a more integrated and balanced sense of the self and allowing healing to arise. Any Body who has a Body is welcome to join in with Experiential Seminars. You can attend them as stand—alone, as a series; or as a preparation for engaging in the on-going training.
The Dance of Embodiment
Welcoming, feeling safe and making friends with the body and being comfortable and at home in our own skin is being "embodied".
Movement is the unifying bond between body mind systems. We grew though movement. It was the first sense to develop. Perception of ourself began through movement and touch and this is a language we will be re-establishing to support awareness of being here now and as a tool for expression and communication, to listen to and trust our own unique language.
To support this we will establish resourcing and self-regulation skills that make being in the body and in our own skin comfortable and pleasurable.
Touch and movement are the first senses through which we learn and form
ourselves; a journey which begins in utero and continues unfolding in life.
Kinaesthesia, (sense of movement), is our 6th sense and is essential to understanding ourselves and the world. Our proprioceptors, nervous system receptors feeding us information about us, are located throughout our body in the joints, tendons and ligaments, muscles and the inner ear. An experience of them through movement, informs us where we are in our body and where we are in space .
This experience, of our growing into self and environment is always there for us, and in revisiting and re-experiencing the patterns of this journey, we come into our knowing through remembering.
Working with a map of the cells, membrane and fluids, organs, bones, and muscle tissue as well as the ancient knowing of a fluid endocrine and nervous system, we come to acknowledge how each body has its own unique language and orchestration.
We will be exploring how the dance of life began as one cell which continued its dance and created a human body.
This process affected our movement, perception of ourself, relationships, respondability and presence.
We revisit early movement development patterns which have an affect on how we relate to our self, others and the environment. We discover how to bring changes to patterns of holding or moving, with the potential to create clarity, spontaneity and grounding.
